WHAT'S HAPPENING

Winfree Academy Charter Schools will be conducting a public meeting to discuss the 2018-2019 Texas Academic Performance Report.  The meeting will be held at the administrative office: 1555 Valwood Parkway Suite 160, Carrollton, Texas, 75006 on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 5:00 PM. Winfree Academy Charter Schools' Safety and Security Committee shall meet to review and update the School’s multi-hazard emergency operations, ensure that planning, training and exercises are conducted in collaboration with first responders, local emergency management personnel, neighboring school, local health authorities and appropriate state and federal agency representatives.

Do you know of any learners who may want to attend Winfree Academy next year? If so, Monday begins our Annual Application period. From May 4th through May 15th, we will be accepting applications for NEW learners to attend Winfree Academy in the fall. The application can be found online at www.winfreeacademy.com in the “What’s Happening?” section. All applicants will be notified of their status no later than May 22nd. We look forward to serving new learners and new families in the upcoming school year!

DALLAS- On February 17, 2017, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) released the 2016-2017 Accreditation statuses for school districts and charter schools.  Winfree Academy Charter Schools was given an “Accredited” status, placing it with 98% of the 1,199 school districts in Texas designated as “Accredited” for the 2016-2017 school year.

Far too often, there are hundreds who go without and amongst those, families with children and teens tend to feel the biggest impact without toys or food. This holiday season Winfree Academy collected hundreds of unwrapped toys and ready-made food items to help serve over 80 families with food and presents over the holidays.

 To help ensure that adult learners, ages 18 and up, don’t miss the opportunity to register to vote, Winfree Academy held a voter registration drive on Friday, September 22nd in honor of Celebrate Freedom Day.
